LPI Summer Intern Program 2023 in Texas, USA (Fully Funded)

An excellent opportunity for international students from around the world to undertake a 10-week training in lunar and planetary science at the Lunar and Planetary Institute near NASA's Johnson Space Center, on the southeast side of Houston, Texas.

The Lunar and Planetary Institute is a scientific forum that attracts clients, postdocs, students, and experts. collects and publishes planetary data while facilitating community access to NASA science; It engages and educates the public about space science and invests in the development of future generations of explorers. The research conducted at the LPI supports NASA's efforts to explore the solar system.


Program overview

The LPI Summer Intern in Planetary Science offers undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research, learn from respected planetary scientists, and discover exciting careers in planetary science. Students get opportunities to participate in enrichment activities, including lectures and career development workshops.

Financial Support

- Selected Interns will receive 500 $ to cover travel expense (for International Students from outside U.S.).

- Selected Interns will receive up to 7,720 $ to cover Internship Stipend, housing, and cost of travel epenses. 

interns who completed the internship program and submitted an accepted abstract as the first author to the upcoming Lunar and Planetary Science Conference are eligible to receive a stipend of up to $1,000 (domestic travelers) and up to $1,500 (international travelers) to help defray travel expenses.


Eligibility

- Be undergraduate Student with at least 50 semster hours of credit.

- Students with majors in natural science ( physics, Chemistry, astronomy, Giology, Biology, etc.) , Enginnering, Computer Science, or Mathematics are preferred, but all eligible students will be considered.


Application Requirements

- At least two reference letters (maximum of 3) and official transcripts to qualify for the program.

Note: Transcripts and letters of recommendation may be submitted independently, but they must be received by December 12, 2022, for your application to be considered.

- If you are foreign national, you must provide a proof of English proficiency like TOEFL , IELTS or A letter from one of the professors in the English department at your college confirming that you have sufficient spoken and written English language skills to successfully participate in the internship program.
