An excellent opportunity for highly motivated young people from different countries of the world to get an internship program at the World Bank. Most intern positions are located in Washington, D.C., with a few other positions in World Bank country offices. Typically, training opportunities are for a minimum of four weeks.
About the Internship
The World Bank's internship program provides an opportunity for ambitious youth from around the world to learn about the Bank's tasks and the nature of its work. The training enables individuals to bring innovative ideas and research experience to the Bank's work. The training will help you enhance your CV through practical work experience in the bank's offices.
The WB Internship Program typically seeks candidates for: Operations (Front Line) in the following fields: economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social sciences (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment, engineering, urban planning, natural resources management, private sector development, and other related fields; or Corporate support (Accounting, Communications, Human Resources Management, Information Technology, Treasury, and other corporate services).
Number of Interns
The number of interns hired for a given year are approximately 150-200, depending on the needs of Bank managers and their budget circumstances.
Finance and Benefits
- All interns will get hourly salary from the world bank.
- Travel allowance from your country to USA and Back up to 3,000 USD at the discretion of the manager.
- Interns are responsibile for their own accommodations from their salaries.
Eligibility
- There is No age limit.
- You must have undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full time graduate study program (master's degree or PhD)
- Fluency in English language is mandatory.
- Knowledge in another language e.g., Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese is desirable.
- Other skills such as computing skills are advantageous.
- All candidates from all countries which are members in world Bank Group are eligible to apply particularly women, with diverse professional and academic backgrounds

The WB Internship is offered twice a year:
Summer Internship: (May - September)
Application Period: December 1– January 31 each year.
Winter Internship: ( November - March)
Application Period: October 1-31 each year.
