About EYCA Rural Youth Camp
The Rural Youth Camp is an international event aims to bring 50 young people from rural regions throughout Europe. Participants will gain knowledge on rural initiatives occurring in various regions, learn strategies on how to energise your community and create connections among the many young rural people across Europe.
The main purpose of the Rural Youth Camp is to identify new ideas on how to build on rural opportunities and engage with young people. The challenges and opportunities recongnised by the participants will be included in a roadmap to be shared with local authorities and organisations to improve the lives of young rural people. This presents an opportunity for you to influence the decisions made by policymakers on our continent.
What can I expect from the Rural Youth Camp?
Eligibility
- Young people aged between 18-26 years;
- Resident in the EU or a country in which EYCA has a member organisation, check list HERE
- Able to speak basic English;
- Have a rural background (You are young people living or previously living in less populated areas with fewer opportunities regarding finding affordable housing, education, employment, cultural and volunteering activities;
- Individuals who are interested in participating, sharing experiences, and enhancing their knowledge and action on rural youth issues;
- No previous experience are required to join, just having motivation;
- Able to attend the whole activities from 11-17 April;
- People who don’t have a European Youth Card can join as well.
Practical and Benefits
- There is no participation fee
- All costs regarding participation and travel will be covered by EYCA
- Participants will be accommodated in shared rooms at the Albergue Inturjoven Cazorla youth hostel.
- Great opportunity to discover Cazorla which is located in the south of Spain and is known for its breathtaking natural reserves and the Moorish castle Castillo de la Yedra.
