If you are interested in experience simple low standard and sustainable lifestyle in the Spanish countryside, then this is an ideal opportunity for you to join the team volunteering "Natural Rhythm" in Spain for two weeks. This volunteering project is hosted by Asociación IMORA and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.
About the project
Natural Rhythm is a two weeks volunteering project for 15 volunteers from EU countries. The project is hosted and organised by "Asociación IMORA" which is a small community of small farm in the countryside of Spain. The project is addressed to those who are interested in permaculture, simple low standard and sustainable lifestyle, environment and its preservation. The project activities include the following:
- Knowledge about the theory of permaculture
- Maintaining organic gardens and food forests in alignment with permaculture principles
- Engaging in homemade food crafting
- Attending to the needs of farm animals
- Participating in recycling initiatives
- Undertaking construction endeavours guided by bio-construction standards
- Engaging in various environmental initiatives.
The hosting organisation provides essential training to prevent potential risks associated with the tasks. Given the international composition of the association's team, adaptation to the intercultural environment is supported through linguistic assistance and translation services if required, although a basic understanding of Spanish can be advantageous. Additionally, volunteers will receive guidance and preparation from tutors or activity supervisors to ensure their readiness and effectiveness.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18-30 years old from the following countries (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine)
- This is a Teams Volunteering project, so its also open for people that did short/long term EVS/ESC volunteering project.
- Wiling to carry out different activities in rural environment.
- Able to live in simple community with low standard conditions.
- Have a passion for nature and interest in the development of a sustainable rural environment
- Able to communicate and work in English spoken and written.
Expenses and Benefits
- The accommodation is going to be in a hostel, volunteers will be hosted in shared rooms with its own bathroom and shower.
- The hostel is fully furnished and has everything needed for simple accommodation (kitchen supplies, towels, blankets, etc).
- The host organisation will provide the food and local transportation, the volunteers will be responsible for cooking and cleaning.
- The Internet connection is available through WIFI access in the main building.
- Keep in mind it's rural area, so there is no markets around.
- Volunteers are entitled to receive a pocket money around 5 EUR/day.
- Your travel costs to and from Spain will be reimbursed after the project according to the distance between your home and the project venue as the following limits:
- for travel distance between 10 and 99 km: 23 EUR / person
- for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person
- for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person
- for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person
- for travel distance between 3000 and 3999 km: 530 EUR / person
