About the Project

"Tur Cos Ta Posibel" invites volunteers from all over Europe and Aruba to join its two week ESC volunteering project which will take place in KIA, the prison of Aruba island. The volunteers will have the opportunity to positively influence the lives of the inmates in the women's wing of the prison. Over two weeks, the volunteer team will engage daily in various activities with the prisoners at KIA. These activities will encompass music and art production, fashion shows, sports, and games, alongside personal and professional development workshops. FAIS (Fashion and Arts in Inclusion Settings) promises to be a significant and impactful experience, allowing volunteers to make a difference in the KIA environment while gaining an enriching, rewarding, and unique experience to take home.

The most recent iteration of the project took place in July 2023, featuring eighteen volunteers from the ESC program and additional volunteers from local organizations in Aruba, such as Popcorn, Britannia Football Club, and Artisa. With the assistance of local artists, they produced impressive murals and, in collaboration with the Popcorn dancers, developed a choreography inspired by African tribal dances and music. Furthermore, they participated in numerous team-building workshops and created a music album. Throughout the project, the volunteers gained insights from the residents of KIA, and the residents, in turn, learned from the international volunteers.
