Open call for young individual from across Europe to join a two-week ESC volunteering project"The Body rock" in Naples, Italy. This project is targeting volunteers who like joining volunteering work, organising big events like festivals and have social media skills. This project is organised by "Noi@Europe ETS" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.

About the volunteering

"The Body Rock" is a 20-year-old hip-hop jam held in Napoli's Barra neighbourhood, organized by TCK Movement, one of the city's oldest hip-hop crews. The event promotes all street arts disciplines (break dance, DJing, writing, MCing) and features local, national, and international artists. The festival lasts two days and takes place in a school and Parco delle Repubbliche Marinare. The project aims to support the festival through urban regeneration activities, improving and cleaning public spaces. Volunteer activities include:

- Cleaning and maintenance of green areas.

- Painting walls for international graffiti artists.

- Promoting the hip-hop jam within the community.

- Designing and installing environmental posters in the park.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years old;

- Citizen or a resident in one of the following countries (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, French Southern and Antarctic Territories, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Ukraine, Sweden, Serbia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Poland);

Interested in Citizenship and democratic participation, Environment and natural protection, Creativity and culture;

Dynamic, sociable, patient, able to work in a team, flexible, and creative who can be interested to be involved in an urban regeneration action and in participating in a hip-hop festival;

- Able to attend the whole duration of the projeect.

volunteers who like work with social media or video-making. Nevertheless, strong motivation, willingness to see and to do something new, curiosity about the world and other cultures are welcome.


Expenses and Benefits

- Participants will be accommodated at a cultural hub (Art.33) in San Giovanni a Teduccio, another neighbourhood in Napoli's eastern periphery.

- The hub, which typically hosts volunteer camps, has mixed rooms, a large kitchen, and a big living room.

- Volunteers will live and work in the eastern suburbs of Naples for 14 days.

- Public transportation is unnecessary for activities, but the accommodation is connected to the city center via metro line 1.

- Participants will receive a food allowance to buy food and cook at the kitchen.

- Participants are entitled to receive a pocket money of 5-6 euros per day

 - Participants from EU countries should get the European Health Insurance Card, for non-EU residents, they will receive HENNER insurance for the whole period of the project.

Your international travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the distance between your home and Italy according to the following limits:

  • for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
  • for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

  • IMPORTANT: keep all your travel documents! Online boarding passes and tickets for reimbursements. No documents = No reimbursement!
  • IMPORTANT: Please send your travel proposition per e-mail to the organisers and wait for their confirmation before purchasing your tickets!

- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV. 


Timeline

Application deadline: 6th of August 2024

Arrival day : 10th of September 2024

Departure day: 25th of September 2024

Note: You have 4-6 extra days in total that you can use before or after the project to travel around Italy. If you wish to do so, bare in mind that you need to cover the costs for your accommodation & food. Late arrivals or early departures are not allowed.
