Are you a young person aged between 18-30 years old and interested in doing long term volunteering project in Spain? Are you ready to discover more about the Spanish culture, Learn Spanish and improve your personal skills? if so then this is an excellent opportunity for you to apply for one or more of four ESC long-term Individual volunteering in Spain. All these projects are coordinated by ETL Don Bosco organisation and funded by the European Solidarity Corps Programme of the European Union.
About the Volunteering
- First Project: Tempo Libre Educativo
This project will be organised by ETL Don Bosco centre which provides activities designed to help families balance their work and family lives. They offer programs for children and young people after school and during vacations. During the school year, They provide a playful space where games are used as educational tools, study support classrooms to reinforce school concepts and promote independent study habits among children and teenagers, as well as other leisure activities. During vacations, our focus shifts to urban camp activities. The involvement of young Europeans, who are motivated to transform society and collaborate altruistically, will enhance the quality of our activities, benefiting both the local community and our users.
- Second Project: Tempo para ti, lugar para todos
This project will be organised by Associação Recreativa e Cultural Os Tipos The volunteer will participate in activities organized by the asociation in Los Tilos, Teo, serving children, teenagers, youth, and the elderly in the district. The main goal for volunteers is to enhance European awareness among young people in the organization and the region. The host organisation aims to broaden young people's acceptance and understanding of diverse cultures. Having a volunteer helps promote knowledge about the European Solidarity Corps Program and its various initiatives.
- Third Project: Escola de ensino en galego
- Fourth Project: De todo para todos
This project will be organised by "Red de Centros Socioculturales del Ayuntamiento de Santiago de Compostela" The volunteers will join activities already established at the Sociocultural Center for residents of Santiago de Compostela, with six possible locations: CSC Conxo, CSC O Ensanche, CSC Fontiñas, CSC Castiñeiriño, CSC Santa Marta, and CSC Vite. These activities include programs for children (playroom, library, languages, storytelling, crafts), young people (chess, languages, sports, dance), adults (exhibitions, dances, photography, cooking, yoga, excursions, city visits), open activities (trips, videos), and events related to local and national festivities.
Volunteer Tasks
- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff in the maintenance and animation of the play room of for children (from 3-12 years): games, workshops, outdoor games, sports
- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff in their activities (keep-fit classes, languages, theatre, handicrafts, dance, etc.)
- Collaborate with responsible person of youth information: updating the information, popularisation of activities, and information about the ESC and Erasmus+ programme
- Collaborate in activities with elderly: memory training, computing, handicrafts, dance, cook-workshop.
- Collaborate with team members and other volunteers in maintenance, order and cleaning of the different rooms, to be ready for next day or activity.
- Collaborate in the urban camp activities during school holidays (3-15 years old)
- Collaborate in the language workshop for children, teenagers and adult people of the neighbourhood
- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff in sports activities
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18-30 years old from ESC Program countries, check the list HERE;
- Young volunteers with interest and motivation in cultural activities and leisure time with children and teenagers;
- Youngsters with capabilities of communication, social skills, enthusiasts, creatives, with initiative and values and ideals about solidarity and European identity;
- Having a good command in English, Knowing Spanish is a plus but it isn't mandatory;
- Able to participate actively in the whole duration of the Project.
Expenses and Benefits
- Participants will be accommodated in a shared flat with other volunteers in Santiago de Composteia, Spain.
- Each volunteer will receive a monthly allowance to manage your food expenses.
- Each volunteer will receive a monthly pocket money as a contribution to additional personal expenses.
- Visa costs will be reimbursed if it is needed.
- Personal mentor to each volunteer to support you during the whole the project.
- Bus card to go and return the centres
- Actual travel expenses from the country of residence to the place of volunteering will be reimbursed up to the amount indicated below.The refund will be made after receiving of the complete travel documents.
- for travel distance between 100 and 499 km: 180 EUR / person, +30 EUR extra for Green travel.
- for travel distance between 500 and 1999 km: 275 EUR / person, +45 EUR extra for Green travel.
- for travel distance between 2000 and 2999 km: 360 EUR / person, +50 EUR extra for Green travel.

- Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you are expected to self-assess your own learning and you can add it to your CV.
