About the Program

Ambassadors Fund Scholarship recipients will spend up to four months in the United States during their university summer break. You will be paired with host employers in seasonal communities across the U.S. and work in seasonal, entry-level positions with significant interaction with American colleagues and guests. During your time, you'll have the chance to meet, work, live, and learn alongside both Americans and other international students, sharing daily experiences.

Experience the United States: Live like a local for up to four months during the program. You'll immerse yourself in the local culture, improve your English, and have the chance to travel for up to 30 days after the program to explore more of the U.S.

Build your CV: Gain valuable skills such as American customer service, intercultural competencies, adaptability, and quick, critical thinking while working during the program.

Meet new people: Connect with Americans from all walks of life and participants from around the globe, just like you!

Program fees included: The program covers fees, health insurance, visa interview fees, SEVIS fees, and round-trip flights to and from the United States!

The Greenheart Exchange connects host organizations (U.S. seasonal businesses) with participants like you to promote workplace diversity and foster cultural understanding and public diplomacy. You may be placed in various types of seasonal businesses, including:

- Restaurants

- Amusement Parks

- Waterparks

- Retail Stores

- Hotels

- Campgrounds


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- University students from any discipline can apply for this program. 

- Applicants must be coming from one of the following countries (Albania, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Colombia, Congo, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominican Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Fiji, Finland, France, Gabon, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Guinea, Guyana, Honduras, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Kiribati, Kosovo, Laos, Liberia, Macedonia, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, South Sudan, Suriname, Sweden, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vietnam, West Bank, Yemen, Zambia, and Zimbabwe).

Before the program, you must complete a pre-program survey, create a video or blog about your preparation and feelings, follow the Department of State's social media, and attend a virtual meeting with Greenheart for program preparation.

During the program, you must complete an arrival orientation, fulfill all SWT program requirements, complete a mid-point survey, follow your proposed timeline, volunteer for at least 8 hours, and complete one online course.

After the program, you must complete a final survey, create a video or blog reflecting on your experience as an Ambassador Scholar, and submit a portfolio of all the work completed during your time as a BridgeUSA Ambassador Scholar.

Step 1: To apply for this scholarship, you must complete this application form in English 

Step 2: After chosen as an Ambassador Scholar, will need to complete a virtual interview with Greenheart and/or the local U.S. embassy. If interview goes well, you will be confirmed as a winner!
