Plural Perspectives 2.0 : Promoting Diversity Awareness | TC in Romania (Fully Funded)

About the training course

Discrimination appears when individuals are treated unfairly or unjustly due to factors like race, age, gender, disability, or other characteristics. Young people experiencing discrimination often face uncertainty about their future, influenced by political populism, social exclusion, and misinformation. These challenges can limit their access to equal opportunities in education and employment, leading to feelings of exclusion and unfair judgment. This can result in isolation and a lack of trust in society.

Political populism worsens the situation by promoting divisive narratives that target marginalised groups. This not only increases discrimination but also normalises it for some, making it harder for young people to envision a just and equal future. Social exclusion further alienates them, depriving them of essential resources and support, which can trap them in a cycle of poverty and marginalisation, making it even more difficult to overcome discrimination. The proposed objectives are:

1. Strengthening the skills of 30 youth workers to organize effective and impactful awareness campaigns that promote tolerance, by fostering media literacy and critical thinking.

2. Building the capacity of 10 NGOs to actively combat hate speech and discrimination in their local communities and online, using the guidelines and methods of the No Hate Speech Youth Campaign.

3. Creating an efficient network of youth workers by establishing a shared space for exchanging best practices, effective tools, and enhancing services and internationalisation, which will empower them to better support young people facing discrimination.
