An open call for young people from EU countries to join a short-term volunteering project "Youth & the Museum" for 3 weeks in Oviedo, Spain. Youth and the Museum is the result of the collaboration between YOUROPÍA and the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, this project is organised by YOUROPÍA and funded by the European Solidarity corps programme of the European Union.
About the volunteering
Youth and the Museum is a short-term Volunteering initiative between YOUROPÍA and the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, aimed at bringing art and culture to communities and groups that typically lack access, with a special focus on young people. To achieve this, various activities will be organized, including the design, creation, and distribution of a board game inspired by the museum’s collection, talks in schools on the theme ‘The artist's journey, our journey,’ a festival with events in and around the museum, international cooking workshops, and potentially a film screening (to be confirmed). Upon the participants’ arrival, time will be set aside for group bonding and familiarizing with the resources we’ll be using, especially the Museum of Fine Arts. Towards the end of the program, a general evaluation will be conducted to gather participants' feedback on the experience.
