An open call for 40 youth workers who are working with young people on daily basis from Erasmus+ program countries or partner countries to apply for professional training course "Grassroots Academy" in Stepantsminda, Georgia from 11-16 November 2024. This project is organised with the collaboration of "Umbrella" and "Gaziantep Youth and Sport Directorate" and funded under Erasmus+ Accreditation in the Field of Youth, by Turkish national agency.
About the training
Grassroots Academy is a training course for real youth workers who are involved with their organisation in running activities with non-formal educational methodologies. This project considers 4 mobilities in 4 different countries as following:
- Training Course, Non- formal education & youth work, Georgia.
- Training Course in Bulgaria, March 2025. The exact dates are to be decided later.
- Partnership-Building activity in Portugal, April 2025. The exact dates are to be decided later.
Each of the activities are connected to each other and Organisers are expecting from the partners to be ready to participate in all of them. The main objectives are:
- Equip youth workers with the competencies to run activities with non-formal educational (NFE) methodologies.
- To develop the gamification approaches in the learning process as the tool to attract more young people
- To create the curricula/a program of grassroots youth work with the use of NFE methods
- Foster intercultural exchange and cooperation between youth workers from diverse backgrounds
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Participants must be a youth workers in an organisation or association in any Erasmus+ program countries or partner countries.
- Aged over 18 with no upper age limit.
- Be able to freely communicate in English.
- Fully involved in the training course and implement the follow-up/dissemination activities.
- Interested in project topics and implement them in practice.
Note: Organisers are seeking to choose 40 experienced, real youth workers, working with youngsters on daily basis. Each organisation will be asked to select 2-3 youth workers (this will be discussed after the selection of the partners). Please, note that the profile of participants is very important part of the project, since the participants are expected to contribute in the training course and have the active role on the follow-up activities.
Expenses and Benefits
- The training-course will take place in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), surrounded with breathtaking mountains. Participants will be accommodated in the 2 or 3 persons rooms with all basic facilities.
- The accommodation costs with 3 times meals and coffee breaks will be fully covered by the project.
- The accommodation place has a washing machine and hair dryer
- Each participant is required to buy the travel tickets in advance, which will be reimbursed after the project, in the concrete limits, depending on the distances as following.
- from 10 - 99 km: 23,00€ (Standard travel) /
- from 100 - 499 km: 180,00€ (Standard travel) /210,00€ (Green travel)
- from 500 - 1999 km: 275,00€ (Standard travel) / 320,00€ (Green travel)
- from 2000 - 2999 km: 360€ (Standard travel) / 410,00€ (Green travel)
- from 3000 - 3999 km: 530,00€ (Standard travel) / 610,00€ (Green travel)
