Safety awareness in the digital Era | Training course in Palermo, Italy (Fully Funded)

About the training

The training course highlights the growing concerns regarding the safe use of digital tools, particularly among young people. While many possess the technical ability to use digital devices, they often lack essential knowledge about digital safety, such as understanding the privacy implications of sharing personal content online. Issues like cyberbullying, digital addiction, privacy violations, and cyber-violence have become more prominent, especially since the pandemic.

Despite the European Union's efforts to regulate the sector, there is a need for engaging educational methods to teach young people about digital safety and wellbeing. The text suggests using gamification as a solution to make learning about these topics more interactive and less theoretical. As part of this initiative, the Italian association InformaGiovani ETS is organizing training for youth workers, teachers, social workers, and journalists, focusing on using gamification and escape games to raise awareness about digital safety. The training is based on the European Digital Competence Framework (Dig.Comp. 2.2) and will emphasize four key areas.

The training is based on the content of Dig.Comp. 2.2, the European Digital Competence Framework and will focus in particular on four aspects:

- protection of devices: smartphones, PCs and networks

- protecting personal data and privacy

- protection of users' health and well-being

- protecting the environment in digital contexts.
