SIPAG Internship program in Singapore 2025 (Funded)

An excellent opportunity for undergraduate students in Bachelor's and Master's from overseas universities in STEAM Courses to apply for The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award program for a period 2- 6 months. This program is organised and funded by Agency for Science, Technology and research of Singapore.


About SIPAG Internship

The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) gives international students the unique opportunity to experience the vibrant scientific environment and work with world-renowned researchers at A*STAR’s Research Entities.

Students who are pursuing their bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computing and Information Science, Biomedical Science, Physical Science or Engineering and Technology can apply for attachments of two to six months in duration. 


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Students from all over the world are eligible to apply.

- Be a 3rd and 4th year undergraduate or master’s student in STEM course (computing and Information Science, Biomedical Science, Physical Science or Engineering and Technology)

Obtained/on track to obtain at least a Second-Class (Upper) Honours or equivalent for bachelor’s degree.

Students must stay enrolled at their home university throughout the program period.

Proficient in both written and verbal English.

Strong interest in a research career.

Note: The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on prevailing scholarship policies. 


Expenses and Benefits

Awardees are provided with a monthly stipend of S$2,000 

There are no additional allowances for airfare.

SIPGA awardees must obtain a Training Employment Pass (TEP) for their attachment at A*STAR. A*STAR Graduate Academy (A*GA) will assist with the TEP application 3-4 months before the attachment. Upon approval, A*GA will send an In-Principle Approval Letter (IPA), which acts as a visa for entering Singapore.

SIPGA recipients are required to submit an online SIPGA Attachment Report no later than 3 weeks prior to the end of the attachment.

You are advised to make prior arrangements for accommodation before arriving in Singapore. A*STAR’s research institutes are generally located at Biopolis and Fusionopolis in the Buona Vista and One North area. You may wish to seek accommodation near your A*STAR research institute.

Step 1. View SIPGA Project List for Project Selection, Please download the list of SIPGA projects to identify the project(s) you wish to apply for.

Step 2: Prepare Supporting Documents, Please prepare the following supporting documents for submission:

- Copy of passport

- Complete academic transcripts of your bachelor's and/or master's (if applicable) degree. Translated transcripts are necessary if the originals are not in English.

Step 3: Submit your online application here. You are welcome to apply for up to three (3) projects.

Step 4: Online Interview, Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by A*STAR researchers for an online interview. Please note that only applicants who are shortlisted will be notified.

Step 5: Await Award Outcome, Applicants who have been nominated by A*STAR researchers will be assessed on a competitive basis for award. Successful applicants will be notified within 2 months after the application deadline.
