About CERN

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is where physicists and engineers explore the fundamental structure of the universe. They utilize the world's largest and most sophisticated scientific instruments to study fundamental particles, which are made to collide at nearly the speed of light. These collisions provide valuable insights into particle interactions and the fundamental laws of nature.

Diversity has been a core value at CERN since its inception, and it remains a central aspect of the organization's mission.

Education is a major focus at CERN. The organization takes pride in sharing knowledge and expertise with passionate and dedicated students. Learning through hands-on experience is considered the most effective method, and when this experience comes from a world-renowned research center, it is even more enriching.

About CERN Summer Student Program

Over a period of 8 to 13 weeks, you will engage in an advanced technical project as part of an experimental or engineering team. During this exciting experience, you will have the opportunity to attend a series of specially organized lectures, where international experts and scientists will share their insights on various topics in theoretical and experimental particle physics, engineering, and computing. The program also includes guided tours of CERN facilities, discussion sessions, and interactive workshops. For more details, check the Summer Student information page. At the end of your stay, you will be expected to submit a brief report on your project and work at CERN.
