An excellent opportunity for youth workers, social workers, youth leaders, and other professionals who work with young people in their daily work to apply for “Spirit of dialogue” - Training course on interfaith dialogue & youth work in Morocco for 4 days from 19-24 May 2025. Seminar is co-organised by SALTO Inclusion & Diversity and SALTO Euromed, with support of the French and Italian National Agency for the E+ programme.
About the training course
“Spirit of dialogue” is a 4 days training course on interfaith dialogue & youth work which will provide youth workers and other professionals with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of interfaith dialogue and learn how to incorporate it into their daily work with young people. The aim of the training course is to develop youth workers 'diversity management’ skills in order to create better opportunities for young people faced with or at risk of religious discrimination. The training objectives are:
- To develop a clearer understanding of what interfaith dialogue entails (and what it does not), including its mechanisms and impacts, through an exploration of its concepts, diverse forms, and practices.
- To reflect on personal belief systems, structural challenges, and organisational approaches.
- To foster interfaith dialogue and promote anti-discriminatory behaviours and practices among youth professionals.
- To share strategies, methods, and resources for using interfaith dialogue as a tool for community building and peace promotion.
- To adapt these tools and methods for Erasmus+: Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps projects, exploring how young people can benefit from them in (international) youth initiatives.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
A maximum of 25 professionals who are:
- regularly engage with young people, including youth workers, leaders, teachers, coaches, religious leaders or representatives, social and health workers, and employment officers.
- Priority will be given to participants who work with young people from diverse religious, faith, or spiritual backgrounds, as well as those from minority or migrant communities.
- Interested in developing their diversity management skills and interfaith dialogue practices
- International experience is not a must.
- Able to work effectively in international English.
- Coming from one of these countries ( Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Partner Countries Neighbouring the EU Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Russian Federation, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine.
- aged over 18 years old (no maximum age to join)
Expenses and Benefits
- Accommodation and meals will be provided for all the selected participants from 19th of May (dinner) to 24th of May (breakfast).
- In case your are selected, the travel costs for participants will be reimbursed by the sending NAs or SALTO. Please check the financial conditions with your sending National Agency/SALTO.
