The World Food Forum (WWF) Internship Programme in Rome, Italy (Paid)

About the internship

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) supports the goals of the 2030 Agenda through its Strategic Framework, working toward more effective, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agri-food systems. This effort aims to enhance production, nutrition, environmental health, and quality of life, ensuring that no one is left behind.

This Call aims to attract qualified candidates for an internship in the FAO’s Office of Youth and Women (OYW) at its headquarters in Rome, Italy. The OYW empowers youth and women within FAO by enhancing their career growth and integrating key topics across the organization. Externally, it focuses on fostering innovative ideas and initiatives involving youth and women within FAO’s mandate. It continues the work of the FAO Youth Committee, the FAO Women’s Committee, and the World Food Forum (WFF) Global Youth Action. Through partnerships, the OYW promotes leadership that advances gender equality and empowerment, strengthening management accountability in these areas. Additionally, OYW collaborates with global initiatives, UN partners, and other stakeholders to support the active participation of youth and women in transforming agri-food systems. It also coordinates closely with FAO technical units that lead the implementation of the FAO Policy on Gender Equality and the Rural Youth Action Plan.

Established in 2021, the World Food Forum (WFF) is a youth-led global network, supported by FAO, that mobilizes young people to shape agri-food systems and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for a better food future. Acting as a global forum, the WFF channels youth energy into identifying solutions and driving positive change in agri-food systems. It aligns with the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit, serves as a major platform for youth in global food governance, and operates as a think tank to support youth-led advances in innovation, science, and technology.
