An open call for young people from all over Europe to join The Caretta Caretta monitoring and protection project, an ESC Team volunteering project for two months in Demre/Antalya, Türkiye during summer 2025. The program includes two teams, the first team project will be from May to July 2025 and the second team will be from July to September 2025. The project is organised by LiDOSK organisation and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.
About the Volunteering project
The Caretta Caretta monitoring and protection project is a team volunteering ESC project in Demre, Antalya, Türkiye for two months. The volunteers' main tasks will be the protection of Caretta Carettas during their nesting and hatchling season. Other activities may include: - observing the coastline - protecting the area from possible threats - marking potential nests - nature preservation, cleaning the beach - organizing campaigns to raise awareness of the nesting process and the importance of sea turtles in our ecosystem - organising workshops, and events for locals - carrying sea turtles that are in need of treatment - active involvement in project dissemination from the volunteers (videos, photos, social media...)
The Typical working day starting from 4:00 am to 9:00 am as a morning session. During the day, the volunteers will have free time to explore or initiate their projects such as learning a new language or skill. the evening session will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Volunteers will have two day off per week and additionally 2 day off by the end of the month.

- Motivated about wildlife conservation and sustainability.
- Appreciate teamwork, cultural exchange, and collaboration with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- No specific qualifications or prior experience are required—just a genuine passion for protecting the environment and a willingness to contribute.
Expenses and Benefits
- Participants will be accommodated in modern villa with 4 apartments, each apartment has two rooms (2 volunteers per one room). A bathroom and kitchen will be included in each apartment.
- Apartments are equipped with fundamental facilities (air conditioners, washing machines, dishwashers, WI-FI)
- Volunteers will receive monthly pocket money and food allowance for their personal expenses.
- Local transportation will be provided by the host organisation via Caretta Bus that will bring the volunteers to work and back home every day. The city center is 45-60 minutes by foot from the accommodation. It’s an hour 25 minutes walk to the nearest beach.
- Reimbursement for travel tickets according to ESC Guide will be done after the project according to the following limit. We encourage participants to travel GREEN with more days to travel and a higher travel limit.
- from 10 - 99 km: 28,00€ (Standard travel) / 56,00€ (Green travel)
- from 100 - 499 km: 211,00€ (Standard travel) / 285,00€ (Green travel)
- from 500 - 1999 km: 309,00€ (Standard travel) / 417€ (Green travel)
- from 2000 - 2999 km: 395€ (Standard travel) / 535,00€ (Green travel)
- from 3000 - 3999 km: 580,00€ (Standard travel) / 785,00€ (Green travel)
- Volunteers are entitled to receive a youthpass certificate for their participation in the ESC Volunteering project.
