An open call for 16 youth workers, and youth leaders who are involved in the projects of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity corps programs to apply for the Partnership Building Activity "PBA - Rural Makers 2.0" from 23-30 January 2025 in Peñalba de Santiago, Spain. This project will be organised by Valdeorras Vive youth association and co-funded by the European Union.
About "Rural Makers 2.0"
Rural Makers is a PBA designed to empower youth workers with new skills and innovative approaches to strengthen youth engagement and development in rural areas. The main objectives of the project are:
• To create a strong network of rural youth workers and organizations across Europe.
• To equip youth workers with tools to foster creative thinking and problem-solving in rural communities.
• To develomp and share practical tools and strategies for addressing the unique challenges faced by young people in rural areas, to create joint initiatives for the upcoming February and March deadlines.
Eligibility | Participants profile
- Coming from one of these countries ( Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, Partner Countries Neighbouring the EU Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Russian Federation, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine;
- Enthusiastic and aware that we will be living in a rural area, learning by examples;
- NGOs’ representatives who are motivated to contribute;
- People responsible for networking and/or project writing at their organisations;
- Able to participate the whole project (participants will not be able to arrive after or

Expenses and Benefits
- There is no participation fee for joining this project.
- Participants will be hosted in Fogar Mozárabe during the project. Fogar Mozárabe is a complex of three rural houses located in the medieval village of Peñalba de Santiago, in the region of El Bierzo.
- Participants will organise by themselves breakfasts, while dinners and lunches will be arranged in one of the Peñalba restaurants. There is a fully equipped kitchen for breakfasts and in case you need it.
- Towels and hair dryers are provided and it's recommended that you bring indoor shoes/slippers ( wearing street shoes inside the house not allowed).
- Valdeorras Vive will return the travel money to all participants after the project according to the following limits:
- from 10 – 99 km: 28 €
- from 100 – 499 km: 211 €
- from 500 – 1999 km: 309 €
- from 2000 – 2999 km: 395 €
- from 3000 – 3999 km: 580 €
- from 4000 – 7999 km: 1188 €
- Participants should count that 20€ will be excluded from the maximum travel budget for local transportation to the project venue
- Youthpass certificate is going to be given, which will ensure an awareness and reflection of the participants on their learning process and competences developed.
