Fin(n)ish with winter, open for spring 2025 | ESC Volunteering Project in Finland (Fully Funded)

An open call for young people from different European Countries to apply for ESC volunteering teams project "Fin(n)ish with winter, open for spring 2025" for two weeks in April 2025 which will take place in Kouvola, Finland. The project will be organised by Ankkapurha Youth Centre and funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme of the European Union.

About the Programme

"Fin(n)ish with winter, open for spring 2025" is a short-term ESC Volunteering project aims to bring volunteers from different European Countries to work as part of Ankkapurha youth centre staff. The main tasks are to fix some activity places nearby the park and forest of youth centre and help the staff to organise a spring event for local families and youngsters at the area of youth centre. The project provide the volunteers with new skills which are highly respected. 

Volunteers will have the opportunity to share their own culture while immersing themselves in Finnish culture. The staff at Ankkapurha will support and assist the volunteers whenever needed. Working hours range from 6 to 8 hours per day, five days a week. In addition to work, the staff at the Youth Centre organizes activities for the evenings and free time, tailored to the volunteers' preferences. The Youth Centre is located about 130 km from Helsinki, surrounded by a park, forest, and riverside.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 years old coming from one of these countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, Italy)

- Participants should be interested in working with children and youngsters.

Committed to participate in the whole project from planning till the final evaluation.

Eager to get to know about new culture and having multiple learning experiences.


Expenses and Benefits

- Volunteers will be accommodated at the youth centre hostel which includes basic rooms to sleep, sharing living room, bathroom and kitchen. 

- Game room, sauna, a hut, bicycles and sport hall of Youth Centre can be used free on agreed times.

- Volunteers will receive one free meal each working day, the other meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves. 

- Participants are entitled to receive a pocket money and food allowance to cover their personal expenses according to European Solidarity Corps programme rules 2025.

The real cost of travel will be reimbursed with a maximum of the amount that is shown in the European Distance Calculator from your living place to Kouvola, Finland according to these limits:

  • from 10 - 99 km: 28,00€ (Standard travel) / 56,00€ (Green travel)
  • from 100 - 499 km: 211,00€ (Standard travel)  / 285,00€ (Green travel)
  • from 500 - 1999 km: 309,00€ (Standard travel) / 417€ (Green travel)
  • from 2000 - 2999 km: 396,00€ (Standard travel) / 535€ (Green travel)
Your main health coverage will be your national insurance, and you have to obtain a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for healthcare benefits in Finland. Apply for the card at least one month before you arrive in Finland. The ESC program provides supplementary insurance to complement your national coverage.

Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you can self-assess your own learning.
