An exciting opportunity for young people from all over Europe to apply for short-term ESC Volunteering in Spain for two weeks during February 2025. The project aims to increase the awareness between the volunteers about nature and the environment and inspire others to rethink their attitude towards nature. This project is organised by "Asociacion Amigos de Europa Leonardo da Vinci" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps Programme of the European Union.
About the Volunteering
"Glocally-Spain" is an European Solidarity Corps Volunteering teams project for two weeks which will take place in El Puerto de Santa MarÃa town in southwest Spain. This volunteering project aims to raise awareness among volunteers and local communities about nature and the environment while encouraging others to reconsider their relationship with nature. It will focus on habitat management, fostering environmental respect, expanding knowledge about nature, and promoting key concepts related to recycling and conservation. Additionally, participants will gain valuable personal and professional skills, such as entrepreneurship, organizational abilities, environmental expertise, and communication skills.
Volunteers will engage in activities designed to explore and protect nature, uniting for shared goals. By taking small actions and promoting the European Green Deal within local communities, we can transform how people interact with the environment. Planned activities include coastal clean-ups, artistic rehabilitation (such as painting trees) in forests affected by fires, and cleaning and signposting Green Paths.
Volunteers will receive full support from the organisers team to carry out non-formal education activities while enhancing their skills in areas like creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. They will assist in workshops focusing on topics such as environmental awareness and eco-literacy, empowering young people to be more engaged and informed about diverse cultural and European contexts. Additionally, the initiative will promote inclusion as a cornerstone of participatory democracy.
