An open call for young people aged between 18-30 from all over Europe to join the ESC Volunteering Project "Green Pulse" which will take place in Samobor, Croatia in February 2025 for 3 weeks. The project focus on the creating a thriving, sustainable space that combines nature, education, and innovation. This project is funded by "Pozitiva Samobor" and funded by the European Solidatity Corps programme of the European Union.

About the Volunteering project

This European Solidarity Corps team volunteering project "Green Pulse" focuses on the creating a thriving, sustainable space that combines nature, education, and innovation, offering for the volunteers and the local community the opportunity to actively engage in the preservation and enhancement of our environment.

The main goal of the project is building on the foundations laid by previous volunteers, complete the development of a mixed forest polygon, botanical garden, and greenhouse, while also incorporating innovative technologies that support sustainable agriculture. Through this, aim is to promote environmental awareness, encourage practical learning, and provide a platform for cross-cultural exchange among young volunteers from across Europe. One of the key objectives is to enhance the local environment and increase public awareness of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture.

The project will have many outdoor activities and volunteers will stay in rustic living for 23 days, so be prepared to work in these conditions with participants from different countries. 


Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 coming from one of the following countries (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden).

- Participants should be fully committed to participate in all the project activities with motivation and dedication.

Volunteers should be eager to work in a team and live harmoniously with other volunteers from different countries.

Participants must have a basic level of English to ensure effective communication among volunteers and with project coordinators. 

This project is a great opportunity for cultural exchange, so an open-minded and cooperative attitude is essential.


Expenses and Benefits

- Volunteers will be hosted in a rural house GreenVille in the surrounding area of Samobor, Croatia. Volunteers will be accommodated in 2-6 person bedrooms with shared bathrooms.

- Food during the whole period of the project will be provided by the host organisation.

- Participants are entitled to receive a pocket money 5-6 EUR/day to cover their personal expenses according to European Solidarity Corps programme rules 2025.

The real cost of travel will be reimbursed with a maximum of the amount that is shown in the European Distance Calculator from your living place to Samobor, Croatia according to these limits:

  • from 10 - 99 km: 28,00€ (Standard travel) / 56,00€ (Green travel)
  • from 100 - 499 km: 211,00€ (Standard travel)  / 285,00€ (Green travel)
  • from 500 - 1999 km: 309,00€ (Standard travel) / 417€ (Green travel)
  • from 2000 - 2999 km: 396,00€ (Standard travel) / 535€ (Green travel)
Your main health coverage will be your national insurance, and you have to obtain a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for healthcare benefits in Croatia. Apply for the card at least one month before you arrive in Croatia. The ESC program provides supplementary insurance to complement your national coverage.

Participants are entitled to receive a YouthPass certificate after the project where you can self-assess your own learning.
