The World House Program is primarily a fellowship program, but it includes an academic component where participants pursue a First Level Executive Master’s degree (M1, 60 ECTS) during the 18-month fellowship. About the World House Program
The World House Program by Rondine Cittadella della Pace is an 18-month fellowship based in Tuscany, Italy, designed for young leaders from conflict or post-conflict areas. The program focuses on conflict transformation through the innovative Rondine Method, promoting dialogue and leadership for positive societal impact. Participants will cohabitate with peers from diverse backgrounds, engage in academic and non-formal training, and work on community projects that foster peace and understanding.
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young leaders aged between 21-28 years old;
- Applicants must be coming from one of these regions "Balkans, Eastern Europe, Middle East, and South Caucasus" ;
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or be on track to graduate by July 2025) or a Master’s degree;
- Active engagement in civil society with a strong commitment to bringing positive change to their communities and addressing conflicts;
- Key skills/attributes: leadership, teamwork, public speaking, active listening, and sensitivity to global issues;
- Basic knowledge of Italian is required (training will be provided). Knowledge of English is desirable.
Expenses and Benefits
Rondine covers:
- Training, engagement activities, and Italian language courses.
- Accommodation and meals during the 18 months of the program.
- Tuition fees for a First Level Executive Master’s degree (M1, 60 ECTS).
- Health insurance and residence permit card to stay in Italy.
Participants are responsible for:
- International travel to and from Italy.
- Visa procedures and personal expenses.
After the full completion of the program as a World House fellow, you will receive:
1- An Academic Degree (M1)
2- Certificate of Achievement of the World House Program
3- Become a member of Rondine International Peace Lab, the alumni network
4- Impact Project - Well designed and ready to implement (if in the Social Impact Semester)
Timeline
Application deadline: 12th of January 2025
Selection result: May or June 2025
1st Semester: July – December 2025
- Online Inception Phase (July 7 – September 21): Italian language training, group building, and administrative preparation.
- On-Campus Trial Period (September 22 – December): Residential phase to assess language proficiency, motivation, and group participation.
2nd Semester: January – June 2026
- Training focuses on conflict resolution, intercultural communication, and civic engagement.
- Participants begin their Master's degree.
3rd Semester: July – December 2026
- Emphasis on leadership, strategic planning, and project development.
- Senior fellows mentor new participants.
Optional Social Impact Semester: January – June 2027
- Intensive project development training for selected participants.
