An exciting opportunity for young people from all over the world to apply for the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 which will take place from 15-17 April 2025 at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA. ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 brings together young leaders to discuss sustainable development and global challenges. The UN Youth Office will sponsor up to 15 young leaders to participate in the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025, prioritising underrepresented groups and those with little or no prior UN engagement.
About the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025
The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum 2025 is set to take place from April 15 to 17, 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This forum serves as a platform for young individuals to engage in discussions with Member States and other stakeholders, sharing perspectives and proposing actions to create a fairer, greener, and more sustainable world, aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
The 2025 theme focuses on “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda”. The forum will also explore commitments and strategies to achieve SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which will be under review at the 2025 High-Level Political Forum (HLPF).
Eligibility | Who can apply?
- young people aged between 18 - 35 from all over the world;
- Youth applicants must be engaged in grassroots, local, national, regional, or global youth-led initiatives, projects, groups, movements or organisations;
- Youth applicants should have good oral and written skills in one of the 6 official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish);
- Youth applicants should be available to actively engage all the days of the event and in Preparatory meetings;

- Applicants from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups and those from conflict- affected areas are encouraged to apply.
Expenses and Benefits
- Roundtrip travel tickets from the country of residence to the venue of the event and back.
- Terminal expenses (transportation to and from the airport, based on UN Fixed rates)
- Daily allowance subsistence for a maximum of 4 days.
- Visa fees are reimbursable after trip completion, upon submission of a receipt.
- Support reasonable accommodation for young persons with disabilities.
- Letter of invitation to support visa related processes.
- Accreditation to the UN event.
- Mentorship and preparation for the engagement.

Selection result: All applicants will be notified of the final decision regarding their application up to four weeks after the deadline.
