An open call for 35 International volunteers from all ESC Programme countries who are looking for a meaningful volunteering experience abroad in summer 2025 to be part of the 4th edition of Youth Summer Fest volunteering project running from 1st to 31st of August 2025 in TimiÈ™oara and Lugoj—two vibrant communities in western Romania! This volunteering project is organised by Timis County Youth Foundation and funded by the European Solidarity Corps Programme of the European Union.
About Volunteering
Youth Summer Fest brings together 35 international volunteers to create, implement, and promote educational, cultural, and creative activities for young people. This year, we’re expanding our focus on learning and personal development, offering interactive workshops, training sessions, and hands-on experiences in youth engagement. Volunteers will contribute in one of three key areas:
- Facilitation & Education – Leading workshops on active citizenship, leadership, and community engagement.
- Media & Promotion – Creating content to share impactful stories and raise awareness about youth participation.
- Logistics & Events – Supporting the organization in preparing spaces and cultural events.
About the hosting city
Timisoara is a special city. Everybody feels it. those who were born and live here and those who come here and then decide to stay. As a true youth city, Timisoara received the title of National Youth Capital. The implementation of the Ist edition has been under FITT's coordination, from the 2nd of May 2016 until the Ist of May 2017. Timisoara also was the European Capital of Culture in 2023, you can still experience a diverse amount of events and activities throughout the city, be it music, art, or other topics.

Eligibility | Who can apply?
- Young people aged between 18-30 years old from ESC programme countries
- Able to speak English at a conversational level.
- You’re enthusiastic about education, facilitation, and youth engagement.
- You’re open-minded, flexible, and eager to make an impact.
- Able to participate actively in all the activities during the project and having a commitment to stay the whole duration of the project.
Expenses and Benefits
- Volunteers will be accommodated in student dorms in Timisoara, Romania in shared rooms with shared bathrooms and kitchen. A chill space outside and internal connection.
- The meals will be your responsibility: you will have an equipped kitchen to use and you will receive a 5 EUR per day as a food allowance around 150 EUR (food allowance)
- Each volunteer will receive a pocket money as 4 EUR/day (this money will be in Romanian currency in cash or by bank transfer)
- Travel cost reimbursement (one return journey) up to the maximum cost as stated in the ESC programme rules according to the following limits;
- from 10 - 99 km: 28,00€ (Standard travel) / 56,00€ (Green travel)
- from 100 - 499 km: 211,00€ (Standard travel) / 285,00€ (Green travel)
- from 500 - 1999 km: 309,00€ (Standard travel) / 417€ (Green travel)
- from 2000 - 2999 km: 396,00€ (Standard travel) / 535€ (Green travel)
