Are you interested in gaining experience with event planning? How about organizing your own festival? well! Now is your chance to join the ESC Team Volunteering project "Lesser Poland Youth Festival" which will take place in Rabka-Zdrój, a town in southern Poland for 35 days. This project will bring together 30 volunteers from all over Europe for an unforgettable experience. This volunteering project is organized by "Europe4Youth" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps program of the European Union.

About Volunteering project

For the last 4 years, "Europe4Youth" organization has been organizing a Youth Festival in Rabka-Zdrój. This year, They decided to expand it, and involve more cities and towns around the Lesser Poland region! The festival will aim to promote European opportunities for young people, youth activism and culture, and the involvement of young people in the EU Youth Dialogue.  The plan is that 30 short-term volunteers organize a series of events lasting one week, consisting of workshops, shows, cultural, social and youth policy events. The set of these events was developed on the basis of a diagnosis of the needs of young people in Lesser Poland region. The festival will consist of a set of events, each day will be in a different town in the region.

The aims of Lesser Poland Youth Festival Project are: 

- Raising awareness on European opportunities for young people among youth in the region, 

- Empowering young people to operate successfully within civil society in their town, 

- Offering opportunities for young people in Lesser Poland Region

- Offer possibilities for integration for the local community.


What you can expect?

- Working hours for volunteers each day are from 10:00 until 17:00; weekends are free, except during the festival, and the working hours may change.

- Volunteers have the right to use 2 additional days off, on dates offered by the organizer.

- During the first two weeks, we are going to get to know each other, cover the most important topics, and learn skills that will allow us to organize the festival. 

- Possible types of events that will be organized can be as follows:

  • Music workshops, culminating with a concert during the festival
  • Intercultural learning events (dance evenings, cooking, etc.)
  • Mental Health Workshops
  • Living Library
  • Volleyball Tournament
  • Youth Info
  • Debate
  • Gaming tournament
  • Art Exhibition
  • and many more

Eligibility | Who can apply?

- Young people aged between 18-30 living in one of the following countries:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, France, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Italy, Estonia, Malta

- Open for learning and self-development;

- Able to work in international groups, but also independently (which means that you also need to have good time-management skills)

- Agree with and respect European Solidarity Corps values

be flexible, creative and motivated

- be willing to learn how to run profiles on social media, make films (stories, reels etc.), and record podcasts

- be willing to learn to organize and manage social, cultural and educational events and workshops

- be tolerant and accepting of other people, their ideas and cultures.


Expenses and Benefits

This project is funded by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), which covers:

 - Volunteers will be accommodated in the Training and Education Center of Europe4Youth Association in Rabka-Zdrój, ul. Cicha 12. 

- It is a cozy and comfortable place, with diverse and healthy meals (3 per day), a place to rest, integrate and work. Rooms are 2-3 persons and one for 5 - all of the rooms have a private bathroom.

Sheets and towels will be provided. Please take comfortable shoes or slippers with you. In the venue, you can also find a piano, loads of board games, a chill zone, and an outside pool. 

Travel costs are reimbursed to the participants against travel tickets and receipts. The amount will be calculated based on the participant's travel distance. Example of maximum amount of travel reimbursement:

  • from 10 – 99 km - 56 EUR (Green Travel)/ 28 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
  • from 100 – 499 km - 285 EUR (Green Travel)/ 211 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
  • from 500 – 1999 km - 417 EUR (Green Travel)/ 309 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
  • from 2000 – 2999 km -  535 EUR (Green Travel)/ 395 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
  • from 3000 – 3999 km -  785 EUR (Green Travel)/ 580 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
  • from 4000 – 7999 km - 1188 EUR (Green Travel) 1188 EUR (Non-Green Travel)
  • from 8000 km or more 1735 EUR (Green Travel)/ 1735 EUR (Non-Green Travel)

- Participants are entitled to receive a youthpass certificate after finishing the project.
