An open call for young people from ESC Programme countries who are willing to do volunteer work for two weeks to join the short-term ESC Team volunteering "RENOFFICE 2025 - Empowerment Solidarity and Community Development in Vienna" which will take place in Vienna from 19th of May to 2nd of June 2025. This volunteering project is organized by " SCI Austria" and funded by the European Solidarity Corps program of the European Union.
About the Volunteering
For decades, the Schottengasse office community in Vienna has been a center for important initiatives and associations, providing the workspace and infrastructure required for organizations dedicated to social change. Made from diverse groups engaged in solidarity tasks, Schottengasse promotes an important approach to addressing social challenges and promoting systemic changes.
The project brings international volunteers and young immigrants together to contribute to the community by learning about integration, youth engagement, solidarity, and volunteering. Through handwork, cultural exchange, and meaningful discussion, participants will engage in activities that strengthen both local and international dimensions of social support.
Main Activities:
🔹 Community Support & Maintenance Work – Volunteers will improve and maintain the shared spaces, making them more suitable and safe for hosting social activities and welcoming individuals in need.
🔹 Intercultural Exchange – Participants will take part in cultural events, cook together, and share experiences to foster mutual understanding and social cohesion.
🔹 Discussion & Learning – Volunteers will prepare materials based on their own experiences or the status of migrants and refugees in their home countries, contributing to collective learning sessions.
🔹 Engagement of Local Volunteers – Special focus will be placed on involving local volunteers with fewer opportunities, both before and after the main activity, ensuring long-term impact.
🔹 Skill Development – Volunteers will enhance their housing maintenance and self-repair skills, gaining practical knowledge while contributing to the well-being of the community.
By participating in this initiative, volunteers will strengthen solidarity, support social inclusion, and gain valuable hands-on experience while making a tangible difference in the Schottengasse community.
