About the volunteering project

Youth Center Apartment Renovation is calling 10 volunteers from all over Europe to join its volunteering project "Youth Center Apartment Renovation" which aims to renovate and maintain the youth center apartment. The main Volunteer working tasks are:

- Light renovation to the Youth Center's hostel-rated apartments: painting walls, fixing furniture, and other cosmetic and refreshing renovation tasks

- Youth Center outdoor and indoor maintenance: weeding beach volleyball, mini golf, and football fields, planting herbs, etc.

- Cleaning up trash from the environment and nature on the clean-up event day after the snow has melted

- Assisting kitchen with dishes if there are big camp groups in the center

- Making social media content and promoting volunteering projects and youth work

- There can be additional tasks too

The aim and learning goals of the project are :

• Gaining experience and learning working life skills

• Gaining everyday life skills

• Developing English language skills

• Gaining cultural knowledge

• Raising awareness about international youth work and ESC projects

In the beginning, the volunteer gets to know the Youth Center as a working environment, and instructions about the work tasks get familiar with the Inari area and Finnish and Sami cultures. There will be one long-term volunteer and 4 short-term volunteers at the same time in the Youth Center.
