Impact Pioneers ’25: Climate Tech Leadership Programme in Sweden (Fully Funded)

The Swedish Institute invites applications for Impact Pioneers ’25, an international leadership programme on Climate Tech entrepreneurshipThe programme runs across 8 weeks, mixing weekly online sessions with a one-week onsite summit in Stockholm in October 2025. The programme is open for participants from 26 countries around the world and covers the costs related to the one-week on-site training in Stockholm, Sweden.



About "Impact Pioneers ’25"

Impact Pioneers ’25 is an international leadership initiative aimed at empowering 60 professionals who promote entrepreneurship and innovation in their local ecosystems. In 2025, the programme focuses on Climate Tech technologies designed to tackle the causes and consequences of climate change, highlighting the role of entrepreneurship in advancing sustainability and driving green transformation.

What Impact Pioneers’25 Offers:

  • A platform to exchange experiences with global peers in the Climate Tech space.
  • Access to tools, frameworks, and real-life case studies at the forefront of sustainable innovation.
  • First-hand exposure to Sweden’s world-renowned ecosystem for impact entrepreneurship.
  • Opportunities to build lasting connections with Swedish entrepreneurs, organizations, and foreign missions for international growth and partnerships.


Programmes Objectives

Short-term objective:

To build the capacity of leaders and enablers supporting local Climate Tech entrepreneurship through knowledge exchange, tools, and international networking—especially with the Swedish ecosystem, to boost impact and foster future partnerships.

Long-term objective:
To contribute to SDG 8.3 by promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, leading to sustainable economic, social, and environmental development.


Eligibility | Who can apply?

The application is open to Entrepreneurship ecosystem leaders and practitioners who:

- work in organizations and networks  that want to develop their support for entrepreneurs with businesses related to sustainability and green transition;

- Are a citizen and resident of one of the following countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Morocco, Nigeria, Philippines, Poland, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, Türkiye, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia);

- work in an organization/business that supports entrepreneurs in sustainability and green transition;

- Have the authority to build new international partnerships;

- Have strong written and spoken English skills;

Be committed to actively participating and sharing experiences with other participants;

- Have identified opportunities or challenges in your local Climate Tech ecosystem to work on during the programme.


Expenses and Benefits

Selected participants from all eligible countries (except Saudi Arabia), the Swedish Institute will cover the following: 

- Flights to and from Sweden

- Accommodation during the programme

- Meals and local transport in Sweden

- Programme-related costs, including learning materials and site visits

Please note: Participants from Saudi Arabia must cover their own flight and accommodation expenses. This is because Saudi Arabia is not part of Sweden’s development cooperation funding agreements.


How to get selected?

To increase your chances of being selected for Impact Pioneers ’25, make sure to:

- Clearly demonstrate how your work or organisation supports entrepreneurs addressing climate change or promoting sustainable innovation.

- Be specific about your position and decision-making power within your hub, accelerator, university, or public sector organisation.

- Share real examples of how your organisation is nurturing local entrepreneurship and contributing to the green transition.

- Show that you’re open to international collaboration and have ideas for partnerships that could benefit from Swedish connections.

- Identify specific challenges or opportunities within your ecosystem that you plan to work on during the programme.

- Write clearly, focus on your unique contributions, and explain why your participation would benefit both you and your ecosystem.


Timeline

Application deadline: 30 April 2025 (23:59 CET)

Screening of applications: 1-30 May 2025

Acceptance letter for granted participants: no later than 17 June 2025

Online Kick-off: late June 2025

Weekly online Sessions Begin: August 2025

On-site experience: One week in Stockholm, Sweden ( October 2025 - TBD)

Closing Session: October/ November 2025

These are the steps you need to go through to submit your application:

Step 1: Register your profile on the application portal (DreamApply).

Step 2: Select the programme: Impact Pioneers ’25: Enabling Climate Tech Entrepreneurship (application open from 25 March – 30 April, 23:59 CET).

Step 3: Click “Apply Now!” and complete all sections (left-hand menu). Review the application overview document in advance.

Step 4: Upload the required materials, such as a short pre-recorded video and your most recent CV/resume (Check the overview document to prepare these properly.

Step 5: After submission, you’ll get a confirmation email in your DreamApply inbox.

1. Can I apply if I'm not from a listed programme country?

- No, applications are only accepted from citizens and residents of the specified 26 programme countries. Both criteria must be met.

2. Are alumni from previous SI Leadership Programmes eligible to apply?

- Yes, alumni from programmes like SIMP, She Entrepreneurs, and SI Leader Lab can apply.

3. What criteria are used in the selection process?

Applicants are evaluated based on:

- Personal Qualifications: Experience and ambitions aligning with programme objectives.

- Organizational Relevance: The organization's goals and activities related to the programme's focus.

- Potential for Collaboration: Ability to support Swedish actors/entrepreneurs in expanding internationally.

- Group Composition: Ensuring diverse representation across countries, profiles, and genders.
